AYSU AND HER JOURNEY TOWARDS HEALING
Imagine being a child and being diagnosed with cancer, a disease that threatens the life you have only just begun. Unfortunately, childhood cancer happens to many children around the world. Globally, over 300,000 children are diagnosed with cancer each year. In the U.S. alone, almost 16,000 kids between the ages of birth and 19 years old will be diagnosed with cancer in 2021. Ewing’s Sarcoma, specifically, is highly aggressive and is a cancer diagnosis seen more often in children. Ewing’s Sarcoma is a rare tumor that forms within the bone’s tissue, and can be found in the legs, pelvis, arms, feet, hands, spine, or even skull. It is so hard to imagine this happening to an innocent child, but it happened to our young friend Aysu, and the Koenig Childhood Cancer Foundation has pledged to help her!
KCCF has been supporting Aysu financially to help pay for the costly treatments that she needs in order to make a full recovery from Ewing’s Sarcoma. It is imperative that we continue to help Aysu and her family through this tremendous and horrific childhood cancer ordeal that no child should have to suffer through. We at KCCF are determined to continue to help Aysu, but we can only do it with your donations. Every dollar we see we give back to those, like Aysu, to help fight one of the worst nightmares a child can encounter at such a young age.
Through our help and childhood cancer treatment funding, Aysu has been able to stay in the hospital to keep receiving treatment, and narrowly avoided being forced to leave the hospital due to lack of funds. Elana, our Founder, and Aysu have formed a tight bond and have kept in contact regardless of the many miles between them. Aysu is currently in Turkey receiving treatment, but we simply don’t have enough money to keep Aysu in treatment for much longer. With your help we can continue to provide the financial stability Aysu desperately needs so that she can continue bravely fighting cancer with her mother by her side. More than anything, we want Aysu back to having a normal, happy, and healthy childhood; as all children deserve.
